I sure do. When there used to be only 3 networks (yes, I'm showing my age), we couldn't wait to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch, Frosty, and all of the other animated and stop-motion specials.
My parents, on the other hand, wouldn't watch the kids' shows, but would bring us all together to watch the celebrity-hosted Christmas variety shows. Bing Crosby had a number of them, including the now classic 1977 show with David Bowie. Perry Como, who I knew nothing about, other than his Christmas specials, had 19. Dean Martin, Julie Andrews, The Carpenters, and the Osmonds all had at least one special, and we watched them all.
There may be fewer now (or I'm just out of touch), but my daughter is excited for us to watch A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter, which is the 7th most popular show currently on Netflix. "The holiday special showcases pop icon Carpenter performing songs ... and features guest performing artists, comedic cameos, and unexpected duets." Sounds just like the old-time specials. I'm in.
Sabrina Carpenter says, "have a self-care night in and just relax and enjoy the show." So, I've picked some self-care items for you. You can use them and watch the show or give them as gifts! No matter if you know someone well, or are going to a white elephant gift exchange, everybody loves and needs some self-care.
