How Do You Use a Konjac Sponge?

When your sponge is brand new, soak it for the first time only in warm water for 10 minutes until it fully expands.

1. Get your sponge ready to go! Soak your sponge in warm water for up to a minute until it is saturated and soft.

2. Squeeze out any excess water. Be careful not to twist or squeeze too hard as konjac sponges are made of organic material.

3. Gently massage your face and decolletage with your sponge in a circular motion. Move in an upward motion and be careful not to be aggressive! Let the sponge do the work for you. Use to remove a clay mask for extra gentle deep cleansing

The great thing about these sponges is that you do not need to use any cleanser at all. This saves you money while decreasing your use of chemicals on your face. However, you may also prefer to use a cleanser with your sponge, and that’s OK too.

4. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry.

5. Gently rinse any facial cleanser out of your konjac sponge, then squeeze out any excess water. Don’t twist or wring your sponge.

6. Once your sponge is rinsed, place it in a well-ventilated area to dry (not your steamy shower). You can also place it in a sealed container and into your refrigerator to keep it fresh and bacteria free.

7. Sterilize with boiling water for a couple of minutes to sanitize it once a week.

8. Replace your sponge every 4 weeks if you use it daily. Replace every 5-6 weeks if you use it 3-4 times per week.
