Brave Birds California
the brave birds story Oh, hi! We're Brave Birds, a company started by a mom and two daughters. We're on a healing mission to pay forward the help that got us through some tough times, and to remind you how big & beautiful this world is, to slow down & appreciate every day! 10% of every purchase is donated to charities that are close to our hearts - pediatric cancer research and programs that improve quality of life while kids are going through tough treatments. Kristina, Avery & Emma - the Brave Birds our inspiration Our very own "brAVERY" is our inspiration. Avery was diagnosed with lymphoma at 5 years old, just months after we lost her dad to a heart condition. It was ROUGH to say the least, but now we're delighted to celebrate Avery being 5+ years cancer free. More
Ceto Home
About I believe that our environment impacts our mood and our overall sense of well-being. The items we bring into our home should not only be a reflection of ourselves but carry with them a positive energy. Handmade goods not only have the incredible ability to bring character and beauty to our space but also to impact the lives of the artisans that make them. My designs are both inspired by and brought to life through the handmade process. I have always been drawn to traditional arts and crafts from around the world. I see my prints as a mix of these global influences and the laidback design aesthetic of my native California. Spread love, joy, and of course good design with Ceto Home’s handcrafted home decor. - Samantha Artisan Made Our pillows are hand printed using intricately carved wooden blocks in a traditional stamping method. Made by experienced artisans in a studio committed to sustainability and inclusivity. The artisans and tailors that make our pillows are paid a... More
Ember + Fog
The Story In a tiny apartment on top of a hill in san francisco... Jaclyn has been making candles since 2016. What began as a fun craft night with friends quickly became a therapeutic creative outlet whenever inspiration struck. In 2020, she created her first set of candles called The Shelter Collection, inspired by comforts found while sheltering in place (now renamed The Homebody Collection). She sold them as a way to make other’s spaces a little extra cozy with the added time spent at home, as well as to commit a portion of the sales to various causes, helping important efforts in some small way.  Each fragrance is the result of a thoughtful experiment, aiming to capture a memory or evoke a feeling of comfort. These candles are hand-poured in small batches, and the fragrance names are handwritten on every label. Each candle is truly a unique and mindfully handcrafted gift. With the launch of Ember + Fog, we hope you find a fragrance that connects with you, taps into some... More
Formr
Second chances for people and planet. At Formr, our mission goes deeper than creating beautiful items for your space. We are dedicated to two important causes - recidivism and construction waste.  Each year more than 600,000 people are released from incarceration. Within 3 years, 50% are re-incarcerated across the US. Many businesses choose not to hire incarcerated persons and oftentimes, they have few, if any, opportunities for work. We don’t think that’s right. That’s why we provide work opportunities for formerly incarcerated people and help provide them with the resources they need to make a real difference in their lives.  Another area where we believe we can make an impact is helping to repurpose construction waste. Each year more than 500 million tons of construction waste is generated, most of it ending up in overflowing landfills. We think that if we can make even a small dent in that amount, that we’re doing good work. That’s why our items are built from repurposed... More

Refill Mercantile
The Refill Mercantile Journey Welcome to Refill Mercantile!! So happy you are here on this low waste journey with us! Remember the days when our parents reused everything until it wasn't reusable anymore? My mom would reuse plastic sandwich bags, containers food came in, I wore hand-me-down clothes from cousins and she made a lot of my clothes until I...um... got curves. This was also about the time when she went back to work. Enter TV dinners with all kinds of waste and nothing reusable. This was the late 1980's early 1990's. The age of my friends moms and mine going to work and us kids getting take out or prepared meals. This was also about the time when plastic bottles became a real thing. And we just tossed them! I cringe thinking back to the change but if we knew then what we know now, would things be different? Convenience took over so we could have that short amount of family time that was leftover from working and commuting. Convenience is key! Being a single mom then living... More
